Dr. Nikolaos Kamperidis

Dr. Nikolaos (Nik) Kamperidis is a highly regarded Consultant Gastroenterologist based in London, specialising in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), endoscopy, colonoscopy, indigestion, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Renowned for his expertise and compassionate approach, he provides comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.

Dr. Kamperidis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece in 2003, before undertaking extensive specialist training in London, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. He later completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital, one of the world’s leading centres for bowel disease, further refining his skills in complex diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Kamperidis completed postgraduate studies at Barts and The London School of Medicine, where he earned both a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctor of Medicine (MD Res). His doctoral thesis, Nutrient Effects in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, was presented at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Kamperidis currently holds an NHS appointment at St Mark’s Hospital, The National Bowel Hospital, where he serves as Chair of Medicine. In this role, he manages both inpatients and outpatients with a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders and performs endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and polypectomy.

His ongoing research focuses on optimising the use of novel therapies and enhancing the quality of care for patients living with inflammatory bowel disease.
