Mr Tushar Agarwal

Mr Tushar Agarwal is an experienced Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. He qualified in Medicine from the University of Delhi in 1991 and undertook his initial postgraduate surgical training at the same institution, followed by a period of senior residency in New Delhi.

He completed his Higher Surgical Training on the North West Thames Surgical Rotation and went on to undertake a one-year fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at University College Hospital and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He also completed an observership at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, gaining further experience in advanced colorectal surgery.

Appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 2011, Mr Agarwal  is currently working as a Consultant Surgeon at St. Marks Hospital, the National Bowel Hospital where he is the lead for colorectal cancers. He specialises in laparoscopic colorectal surgery, the management of colorectal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease and proctology, including surgery for haemorrhoids, anal fissures and anal fistulae. He is a JAG approved endoscopist and regularly carries out upper GI (OGD) and Lower GI (colonoscopy) endoscopies.

In addition to his clinical work, he is committed to surgical education. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London,  Educational supervisor for Foundation Trainees and senior surgical trainees and Surgical Education Lead for undergraduate students. He is also a trainer for surgical registrars, a PLAB examiner and a panel member for Imperial College medical school interviews.
