I am an experienced laparoscopic colorectal and general surgeon with my primary NHS practice at Luton & Dunstable Hospital in Bedfordshire.
I have a specialist interest in keyhole and open groin hernia surgery (inguinal, umbilical, femoral and spigelian) as well as incisional hernia repair. I am a fully trained and accredited bowel surgeon with expertise in surgical treatment of colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease surgery (Crohn's and ulcerative colitis), surgery for diverticular disease and in the management of pelvic floor dysfunction including rectal prolapse surgery.
I offer a full range of treatment for all coloproctological conditions including anal tags and haemorrhoids (excisional surgery, THD procedure and Rafaelo), fistula surgery (laying open, seton placement, LIFT and laser surgery), pilonidal sinus disease and the management of anal fissures. I also perform advanced lower GI endoscopy including flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and polypectomy.
I trained at St Mary's Hospital in London and then completed a fellowship at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. I am an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and actively train young surgeons in keyhole surgery.
I offer private daycase and inpatient care to adult patients in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northwest and Central London. Appointments are available via my secretary, Denise Bodsworth, on 07506 589070 or by email: sec2sgurjar@gmail.com
