About Mr Mark Harris
Consultant Urological Surgeon Mr Mark Harris was appointed as a consultant at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust in 2013. He has a sub-specialty interest in endourology and uses minimally invasive techniques to treat common urological conditions. In addition to general urology, his main interests are benign prostate disorders, stone disease, and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. He is the local urology lead for the delivery of prostate artery embolisation, HoLEP and other benign urological conditions.
Mr Harris is experienced in evaluating lower urinary tract symptoms and is able to offer the latest treatments such as prostate artery embolisation where appropriate. He is able to treat a range of conditions, including bladder pain, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, scrotal conditions, kidney stones, and benign bladder conditions.
Mr Harris gained his medical qualifications from the University of Bristol before undertaking basic surgical training in the South West region. He completed his higher specialist training in urology within the Wessex Deanery. Mr Harris is involved in research and has previously evaluated the psychological burden of prostate cancer on patients for his MD thesis.
