Consultant Urologist specialising in stone disease, prostate conditions and robotic kidney surgery.
About Me
I am a Consultant Urologist dedicated to providing world-class, patient-focused care. My philosophy is simple: you, the patient, come first. I believe that clear communication and shared decision-making are just as important as advanced surgical skill. My goal is to ensure you receive a swift diagnosis and a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs and lifestyle, delivered with compassion and the highest standards of safety.
My practice covers all aspects of urology, with a special focus on kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and chronic urological problems. I am also one of the highest-volume robotic surgeons for kidney surgery in the UK.
I offer the latest minimally invasive procedures for prostate conditions, including Aquablation, Rezūm and TURP. I also provide advanced stone surgery using flexible ureteroscopy and laser techniques with the latest suction technology. As a dedicated robotic surgeon, I treat both kidney cancer and benign kidney conditions using state-of-the-art platforms.
A unique part of my practice is the routine use of the retroperitoneal 'keyhole' approach for kidney surgery. By accessing the kidney from the back, we avoid disturbing the main abdominal cavity. For my patients, this means significantly less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and a much faster recovery. This expertise allows me to take on complex cases referred from other hospitals.
My Training & Experience
I graduated from the University of Jordan before completing my specialist urological training in the East Midlands. I further honed my skills in treating complex stone disease at the prestigious stone unit at Nottingham University Hospitals. Following this, I undertook a Royal College of Surgeons accredited robotic fellowship in kidney cancer surgery at Frimley Park Hospital, an internationally recognised centre of excellence.
Today, at Frimley Health, I chair the Renal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), where our team develops a personalised treatment plan for every patient. I am also passionate about training the next generation of surgeons and am a certified proctor for leading robotic platforms, officially entrusted to teach and mentor fellow consultant surgeons across the UK.
My commitment to innovation includes leading service improvements, such as developing a pioneering digital follow-up pathway for patients with stone disease. I have published multiple peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and my surgical outcomes are meticulously audited to ensure they meet the highest national benchmarks.

Mr Manar Malki is a friendly and professional specialist who listens intently to patients. He provides clear explanations for diagnoses and treatment options, ensuring understanding and building confidence. Patients report successful surgical outcomes, such as kidney mass removal and epididymal cyst operations, with many noting significant life improvements. A common focus of his practice includes conditions like renal cancer.
It would have been useful if the nurses knew in advance if a urine test or a flow test were going to be required upon arrival especially to avoid a possible toilet break after a long journey.
very friendly and takes time to explain fully and also listens
The doctor is very patient and listens intently. He is a good choice for patients who come with complex issues or have difficulty explaining their symptoms.
A very kind, caring man who made me feel as though even small problems deserved to be listened to and taken seriously. I was given every opportunity to say what ever I needed to.
Other than the lack of a flow test there was a brief discussion during which I stated how the operation had significantly improved my life and I was very happy with the end result. Mr Maliki said he would pass on my comments to Mr Ali and if I had any future concerns to contact him.
Manar is a friend and colleague. He is a dedicated and caring clinician who offers an excellent service to our patients in Nottingham with complex renal cancers.
