Mr Kumaran Thiruppathy is a clear communicator, and patients feel at ease with him. He successfully treats haemorrhoids, performs colonoscopies, and repairs hernias. Patients also praise his professional manner and thorough care. His expertise covers inguinal hernia, general hernia repairs, and colorectal surgery.
I saw Mr Kumaran Thiruppathy at Circle Reading Hospital in October 2025 for troublesome internal haemorrhoids. He quickly made an accurate diagnosis and clearly explained my condition and the treatment options, including rubber band ligation. I went ahead with banding of my internal haemorrhoids, which was done efficiently and with great care, and he talked me through each step so I knew exactly what was happening. Since then my symptoms have improved a lot, with much less discomfort and bleeding in everyday life. At my follow‑up appointment in January 2026, we mainly reviewed how things had improved after the procedure and discussed ongoing management and prevention. Mr Thiruppathy listened carefully, answered all my questions, and gave clear, practical advice. Overall, I’ve had an excellent experience under his care and feel much more comfortable and reassured now. I would highly recommend Mr Thiruppathy and the team at Circle Reading Hospital to anyone needing assessment and treatment for haemorrhoids.
Excellent experience. Very efficient, and knowledgeable. Mr Thiruppathy was my consultant and he is still my work colleague.
Experience brilliant and made very easy , always informative and can’t fault anything
As much as the colonoscopy was not enjoyable, I really do rate the whole experience as amazing, the staff were all wonderful and really looked after me
The clinical staff were so nice, informative and made me feel at ease. Mr Thiruppathy gave clear feedback and advice throughout the procedure and after.
Follow up from surgery in October. Seen on time very efficient.
Mr Thiruppathy is a very pleasant gentleman and provided a fast and clear diagnosis. Surgery was arranged at a very convenient time. I made a good recovery with minimal pain from the surgery. Advice was very helpful and comprehensive throughout the process. Thank you.
Good explanation of cause of my problem and how it would be repaired during the operation. Good calm reassurring care on day of operation and post operation. Let’s put it this way - hopefully i never need another operation but if I did I would be more than happy to have it done here at the Priory, Reading.
Mr Thirupatty is a very thorough abdominal surgeon with a positive and attentive approach to each case. I appreciate his deep knowledge and his attitude to find the best way to treat patients. He has gained my patients and my personal trust.

RadiologistI have worked closely with Mr Kumaran Thiruppathy for the past 8 years. He is an outstanding Surgeon and clinician. We regularly perform combined complex robotic and open operations together. These are always very enjoyable as his skill as a Surgeon and the care and diligence he approaches all his patients, is inspiring. He has taught me a great deal over the years, and his number is always the first number I would call if I needed general surgical advice or guidance. I regularly refer him patients, as I know they are in very safe hands with him.
