Mr James Crinnion

Mr. James Crinnion is a Consultant Surgeon practicing at The London Clinic in central London and several other private hospitals in North and east London. He was an NHS Consultant at the Royal London and Whipps Cross University hospitals for 25 years. He specialises in general, vascular and endocrine surgery. He has particular expertise in the minimal access treatment of varicose veins, laparoscopic and open hernia surgery, treatment of gall stones, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He performs a one-stop service for the assessment of varicose veins and explains exactly the procedure necessary at the first outpatient visit when he performs an ultrasound assessment. There is no need for further visits prior to the planned procedure. He also undertakes skin and soft tissue surgery and can provide an opinion and treatment for common general surgical conditions.

Mr. James Crinnion qualified from Leeds University Medical School in 1987 and trained in Leeds, Sheffield, and London. In 1998 he was awarded an MD thesis for vascular surgical research.

During his NHS career Mr. Crinnion dedicated time to surgical education and he has published extensively with many original articles and book chapters. He has been Chairman of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons, an invited member of Council of the Royal College of Surgeons and Chairman of the North Thames Training Committee for General surgery. He has also been the Trust clinical governance lead (2003-9) and Clinical Director for General Surgery for Bartshealth (2012-2016).
