Mr. Enis Guryel is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon working at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust in the Major Trauma Centre since 2011.
Mr. Guryel's specialist interest is in the management of acute complex trauma in both the upper and lower limbs in adults and paediatrics. His sub-specialty interests are the management of bone infection, non-union, deformity correction and limb lengthening and works with plastic surgeons performing combined operating lists and MDT clinics.
Having qualified from Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals Medical School in 1998 and gained his membership to the RCSEngland in 2004. He completed the St. George's Hospital SWT Orthopaedic rotation and undertook the Complex Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at St. Peter's Hospital in Chertsey. He is highly experienced, with over 22 years of experience in medicine.
Mr Guryel is a passionate educator and enjoys teaching at local, regional and national courses and is Past-president of the Federation of Orthopaedic Trainees in Europe and is a reviewer for the Bone & Joint Journal. He is the honorary Treasurer for the Orthopaedic section of the RSM and a member of the BOA.

My experience with Dr. Enis Guryel has been outstanding. He is incredibly calm, attentive, and always willing to listen. He took the time to recommend several treatment options, giving me a renewed sense of hope. I have undergone five surgeries on my left humerus bone, all of which unfortunately failed. I had lost both hope and the ability to use my hand. After the fifth surgery failed, one doctor even advised me to give up on the hand entirely. But Dr. Guryel gave me hope—and more than that, results. Just two weeks after his treatment, my hand has begun to return to shape, and I’m now able to use it for multiple tasks. I feel excited, empowered, and deeply grateful.
Mr Guryel has been amazing from start to finish. A totally approachable, kind man that actually listens to the patient and their needs and takes this into consideration to assist with the treatment plan. My Guryel explains the whole process along the way ensuring communication is clear and understood. In 3 months he has made such a difference to my life that no one else has been able to do for the last year. I cannot thank him enough
Mr Guryal is a brilliant, kind and empathetic surgeon. His skilled and timely surgery has meant I have recovered so well from a complicated ankle fracture, that I can now run gently at only 6 months post op.
I found Doctor Guryel extremely open and transparent whilst explaining everything to me. I found him kind, caring & reassuring. He also had me seen swiftly from our first appointment. I had my MRI 7 days after seeing him then 4 days later appointment with Dr. Guryel to discuss MRI. Very grateful.
Mr Guryel dedicates time to each meeting. Nothing is too much trouble. He explains procedures fully and is happy to answer any questions.
