Mr Lawrence has essentially saved my life. His care through initial referral, urgent open heart surgery to post operative care has been fantastic and faultless. As a NHS consultant I would have no hesitation in recommending this brilliant surgeon.

He is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and his belief in treating illness holistically benefitted me significantly. He is generous with his time and replied to my call late in the evening, even at after a long day of operating. After my operation he visited me regularly - more than any other consultant has done. I have everything to be grateful for under the care of Mr David Lawrence over the last 5 years. I presented with multiple primary tumours in different areas. The case was complex with competing priorities and several consultants from different disciplines involved. Thoracotomy is significant surgery for all involved. The care Mr Lawerence took pre and post op stood out. His surgery was without complications.

Shortly before my surgery, Mr. Lawrence came to see me and although I was very nervous by then, never having had an operation in my life, he managed to make me feel a little more at ease, it was just somehow reassuring to have those few words with him. David Lawrence came off his Easter holiday 2013 to do emergency surgery for me with his team. OF course anyone who has facilitated an extension of your life is going to become somewhat special in your life!. in every interaction with this focused human being I have experienced a gentle and precise focus and clarity. I am always quite amazed at the time he has given me as an NHS patient, He has responded to every email and concern I have had for almost 12 years now!. Last year I had to have some sternum wires removed and he even took it pain himself to match the incision with a Tatoo I had on my skin over my sternum !. Mr Lawrence operated on me last week and removed a cyst from my heart. He was so reassuiring in the diagnosis and operation, gave me and my wife the releif we so needed as we were extremely anxious before the operation. The op went as planned and I was in safe hands, recovery was great and attentive. Great experience all round.
