Mr Ashwin Kulkarni

Mr Ashwin Kulkarni (MBBS, D(Ortho), DNB(Ortho), MRCS, FRCS(Tr&Ortho), PG Cert Ed is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee procedures, working at the cutting edge of joint replacement surgery.

With a special interest in medical innovation and research, Mr Kulkarni was an early adopter of

SuperPath, a minimally invasive hip replacement procedure now widely available in his practice. As an education ambassador, Mr Kulkarni has undertaken prolific roles such as Editor in Chief for a web based orthopaedic Wikipaedics project, Education Committee Member of the British Orthopaedic Association. He was also a pioneer of UKITE, now, a mandatory annual assessment programme for registrars, developed to improve quality.

Outside of medicine, Ash enjoys spending quality time with his family, dog walking and hiking (sometimes all at once). He is a real foodie – and enjoys both cooking and eating. He has

a penchant for full-bodied red wines and enjoys spending time out on his

motorbike (not at the same time!)
