About Mr Amgad Nakhla
Mr Amgad Nakhla is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in London. He has a specialist interest in enhanced recovery and minimally invasive surgery. He extensive experience performing hip and knee replacements and arthroscopic knee surgery.
After graduating in Medicine from Cairo University in 2000, he completed a Master's degree in Trauma & Orthopaedics. He obtained membership with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2006 and became a Fellow in 2008. He worked as a Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College, London for 3 years, before completing sub-speciality training in hip and knee surgery. He undertook a Fellowship at Charing Cross Hospital, followed by 2 further Fellowships at Nottingham University Hospital, gaining extensive experience in complex primary and revision hip and knee surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Nakhla is actively involved in research in his sup-speciality. He has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is regularly invited to present at national and international conferences.
Outside of work Mr Nakhla is a keen cyclist, skier and sailor. He also enjoys spending time with his family hiking and kayaking. He can speak German and is also fluent in English and Arabic.

It was very easy to arrange an appointment with Mr Nakhla, to obtain an MRI scan and treatment all within a few weeks. I had a tear in my shoulder's rotator cuff that prevented me lifting up my arm. Mr Nakhla walked me through the MRI diagnosis and explained the treatment. A steroid injection remedied the shoulder, restoring full, pain free motion. A very positive experience that cured a year old injury.
The doctor is highly professional and ethical. He clearly explained the procedure, associated risks, and recovery process. This inspired confidence and hope for the best outcome.
Mr. Nakhla was very clear in his explanations, making sure I understood his diagnosis and how to proceed. He was very attentive, even calling and messaging me on his personal phone to discuss scan results. Overall, a great service.
