Theresa gained her medical qualification at University of London with Honors degree in medicine surgery and Pathology , in addition to her BSc in psychology she specialises In nervous amd anxious patients
After this, she trained for seven years with prestigious institutions, including the Royal College of Surgeons, The Western Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, where she gained fellowship in both Retina and Uveitis. She was a consultant in glaucoma and medical retina from 2002 in Croydon where she set up the Macula service and was Lead consultant for 8 years gaining three clinical excellence awards . She was later appointed consultant in 2014 at the Imperial Healthcare Trust, where she also trains junior Ophthalmologists in retina and cataract care, including cataract surgery and laser retina surgery and treatment of vein occlusion and uveitis . She is well versed to performing complex eye surgeries with low complication rates of 0.04.
She is a Consultant in the Western Eye Hospital Casualty and this she enjoys the most as she has gained over 24 years of experience in the most complex and unusual cases which keeps her on her toes !

The best doctor I have come across! From the moment I enquired about an appointment, Miss Theresa Richardson was incredibly accommodating and managed to fit me into her schedule. She was exceptionally thorough, taking the time to explain everything clearly and explore all possible causes of my symptoms. She carried out detailed investigative tests and did not stop until we had clear answers. She truly goes above and beyond for her patients, with outstanding communication and response times throughout. Miss Richardson is extremely knowledgeable, genuinely kind, and reassuring at every stage. She is without doubt one of the best doctors I have come across, and I could not recommend her more highly. A true gem.

My recent experience was the same as the first warm greeting, taken to waiting room that was so welcoming, putting you at ease, had my orbs done, then a lovely lady took my menu for after my procedure, When it was my turn, I was taken to the theatre, again was greeted with a warm welcome, I was told step by step about the drops they put in your eye to numb it lovely people put you at ease Then into theatre for my procedure Greeted by miss Theresa Richardson who explained what I was to do felt completely comfortable could not have asked for more what a fantastic experience it was

After an emergency referral from my optician following an eye scan to the Western eye hospital A&E Dr Richardson went over and above to ensure I was given the best possible care and follow up assistant with specialists.
