Miss Joy Odili

Dr Joy Odili is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon at St George's Hospital and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at St George's University, London. She is the Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer. She qualified from Glasgow University in 1994 and completed four-year basic surgical training. She then spent two years doing clinical research in malignant melanoma at the renowned RAFT Institute of Plastic Surgery, Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood.

In 2002, Dr Odili was awarded a Hunterian Professorship for her research by the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a Masters Degree (MD) by the University of London. She underwent specialist training in plastic surgery at Mount Vernon Hospital, St Andrews Centre Broomfield, The Royal Free Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and St Thomas Hospital, London. She passed her FRCS (Plast) exam in 2008 and took up a consultant post at St George's Hospital.

Dr Odili is an expert in skin cancer surgery, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the ear and breast, and vascular malformations surgery.

Dr Odili has a keen interest in teaching and education. She is actively involved in the training of postgraduate junior doctors and medical students. She also provides work experience for 6th form students interested in a career in medicine.
