I am truly grateful for the care I received from Dr Franks. She is one of the most caring, compassionate and highly professional doctors I have ever met. From the moment I walked into her office, she made me feel heard, understood and supported. Her ability to combine deep medical expertise with genuine empathy is remarkable. Exceptional surgeon and doctor - Jo Franks isn't only technically brilliant but also possesses the rare talent of being able to pick up her patients and turn what may be a challenging diagnosis into a manageable path forward. She is reassuring, empathic and excellent at coaching her patients through the surgical process and beyond. Four months after a mastectomy with immediate reconstruction with her, I am left with only one small breast scar (!) and both physically and psychologically effectively back to normal. I could not have been in better hands and cannot recommend her highly enough.

I received a shock BRCA 1 diagnosis in July this year. From my first appointment with Miss Franks, I knew I’d found the right surgeon for me. Not only is Miss Franks incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, authoritative and highly experienced - she’s human too, displaying warmth, kindness and empathy. The whole process from diagnosis to bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction has been seamless under her care and guidance. She and her team have taken on the burden of making sure I speak to the correct people (from geneticist to psychologist) and making all arrangements. At what is an incredibly scary, daunting and overwhelming time, having Miss Franks looking after me and figuratively holding my hand has been sanity saving. She is an incredibly rare combination of clinical excellence and skill, professionalism and compassion. I feel so lucky to have been under her exceptional care.

Miss Franks was approachable, empathic and very knowledgeable. She answered all questions clearly and candidly, and instilled us with great confidence and understanding of our next steps in surgical care. The care she has provided has been nothing short of exemplary.
