About Miss Claire Fitzgerald
Miss Claire Fitzgerald is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
She sees patients with shoulder and/or elbow conditions and offers a wide range of treatments, including reconstructive treatments such as arthroscopy and shoulder/elbow replacement surgery.
Miss Fitzgerald gained her medical degree from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in 2003 and later completed her surgical training in hospitals in both London and Wales. She also completed two prestigious fellowships in Upper Limb Surgery at University College Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. She was registered as a Specialist in 2013 and was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2015.
She has special interests in arthroscopy and arthroplasty, acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) surgery, upper limb trauma surgery, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel, ganglion surgery and tendon/ligament repair.
Alongside practising as a Consultant, Miss Fitzgerald has published her research in many peer-reviewed journals. She has contributed to the set-up of a randomised controlled clinical trial at the National Institute for Health Research.

I would highly recommend Claire Fitzgerald for shoulder injuries. I had a partial tear in one of my shoulder muscles. Claire explained things very clearly, so I understood what was causing the pain and the restricted movement in my arm. Importantly even though Claire is a consultant surgeon, she was open to alternatives to surgery given my case was not too severe. After a couple of months including physio, my shoulder and arm were pretty much back to normal and continue to be fine.

Miss Fitzgerald is a very caring and extremely helpful consultant. I felt relaxed with her at every consultation.
