Mr James White, Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon, works with the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and provides private services at, The Lister Hospital Chelsea, The Shard- London Bridge Hospital, King Edward VIIs Hospital and Chiswick Outpatient Centre. He is fully specialised in arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and upper limb trauma (shoulder/elbow/wrist). He endeavours to use non-operative techniques when possible. Afterwards, he went on to complete several fellowships at Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London, both highly respected institutions.

Mr James White is professional and provides clear explanations, offering patients caring and reassuring interactions. Many patients highlight his skill in diverse upper limb surgeries, including clavicle fractures, biceps tendon repairs, shoulder replacements, and rotator cuff operations. These operations deliver excellent outcomes and successful recoveries. His practice addresses extensive shoulder pain and a wide array of shoulder and elbow surgical needs.
I had a fantastic experience with Mr. White for a clavicle fracture. I actually went into the office not expecting to need surgery at all. Rather than pushing me toward a specific path, he took the time to walk me through my imaging and explain the long-term pros and cons of both surgical and non-surgical options. Because of that level of clarity and care, I felt empowered to decide on surgery, and I’m glad that I did. The outcome has been great, and my recovery has been on track. I also want to mention the PA, who was incredibly responsive and helpful with every follow-up question I had. I felt genuinely well taken care of by the entire team. If you want a surgeon who prioritizes patient education and respects your decision-making process, this is the place to go.
It was my first time meeting Mr White, and I found him to be a very pleasant surgeon. He explained the cause of my shoulder problem in detail and was very prompt in arranging the necessary procedures to help me. I look forward to a positive outcome in my recovery with Mr White’s care.
Prompt attention. Clear explanations of procedures. Easy manners.
Dr White is provided professional, expert and relevant advice on the progress since my shoulder surgery in October 2025. He is an excellent surgeon and well versed in the detail.
Mr. White performed my surgery for a ruptured pectoral major. His expertise and professionalism are fantastic, and I received excellent care at every stage. Highly recommended.
James knowledge and ability to articulate complex medical issues in a simple way really made me feel comfortable and clear on next steps . He is a top class consultant
Mr White carried out a telescopic procedure on my left shoulder which is arthritic . Two weeks later I am already seeing great results. He is a very good surgeon and also has a nice manner with patients so the whole experience was very positive. The other staff at the Princess Grace hospital were also faultless making my stay there so much easier than it could have been .
Mr White is a leading upper limb surgeon who is respected for his skill and patient care. We teach together on a national course for shoulder keyhole surgery and I have directly observed his considerable technical skill. I would encourage those with shoulder or elbow problems (including my own friends and relatives) to see his help.
