Dr Syed Asad Hussain

Dr Hussain is a Consultant Rheumatologist & General Physician with 14 years of experience. He completed his medical degree at the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, Imperial College London in 1995. After completing his foundation training, he went on to complete his specialist training in rheumatology and general medicine in the Mersey region. Dr Hussain completed his MD at the Clinical Biochemistry Metabolic Bone Unit Liverpool University. He was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London in 2009.

Initially working in the NHS, he transitioned fully into private practice, where he has built a thriving rheumatology and general medicine practice. His main interest lies in bone metabolism, which led to his postgraduate doctorate. Dr Hussain's expertise spans a wide range of complex conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, inflammatory joint diseases, lupus, psoriasis-related arthritis, spondyloarthropathy, ankylosing spondylitis, and soft tissue disorders like tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome. He also treats fibromyalgia, gout, vasculitis, and osteoporosis.

His general medicine practice covers the management of hypertension and other medical conditions. Known for his strong communication and use of technology, Dr Hussain provides evidence-based, patient-centred care for complex rheumatology problems. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and an accredited appraiser for consultants in the private sector. Practising in both the North West and London, he works from several hospitals, including HCA London Bridge Hospital / The Shard. Dr Hussain is registered with various medical insurance companies and offers fast-track care pathways, building strong partnerships with both patients and colleagues.
