I’m Dr Stephen Humble, a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London. I’m also the Medical Director of the London Interventional Clinic and have been helping patients who are struggling with back pain, slipped discs, sciatica, and severe spinal pain for over two decades.
Every day I meet patients who are in pain and have been searching for answers. I understand how distressing this can be and how much of an impact it can have on their lives. That’s why I’m passionate about helping people get on top of their pain, before it becomes a long-term problem, so they can get back to their work, sport, and enjoying a good quality of life.
My aim is to help patients avoid invasive surgery and all the risks associated with it. I use a combination of cortisone injections, anti-inflammatories and referral to high level physiotherapists within my network. I’ve successfully treated thousands of patients over the years and acquired my skills through my extensive training, including my MSc from the University of Edinburgh and my PhD in Neuroscience.
I specialise in Interventional Pain Medicine, which means I help patients with cortisone injection treatments and intramuscular Botox, as well as whole person treatments including medications and exercise. I’ve performed thousands of routine epidurals and other spinal injections, but I’m also one of a few specialist doctors who treat patients using niche techniques such as radiofrequency therapy and Racz epiduroplasty treatment.
I featured on the BBC1 Programme ‘Health: Truth or Scare’ and have published numerous medical and scientific papers in high-level journals. I’ve also spoken at many conferences and meetings, sharing my knowledge and expertise with the medical community.
