About Dr Stephan Brincat

Dr Brincat's specialised training took place within the South London deanery, offering exposure to some of the country's most prestigious medical institutions. Notably, he honed his skills at the Renal and Transplant Centre at Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust, the Renal Unit at King's College NHS Foundation Trust, and the Renal and Transplant Unit at St George's NHS Foundation Trust. In 2010, he successfully completed his training, and in 2015, he became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Brincat is a dedicated educator. He actively contributes to medical education, mentoring junior doctors and undergraduate students as a faculty member at the Simulation Lab at St George's Hospital, an honorary senior lecturer, and an examiner for undergraduate students at St George's Medical School.
Dr Brincat's leadership extends beyond his clinical practice. He served as the Care Group Lead for Acute and General Medicine from 2019 to 2021 in his Trust. Moreover, he played a pivotal role in establishing the AKI clinic service at St George's Hospital, showcasing its positive impact on patient care at national and international conferences.
With a wealth of experience, Dr Brincat offers comprehensive advice in nephrology, covering diverse aspects such as acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, haematuria, proteinuria, hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetic kidney disease, polycystic kidney disease, and glomerulonephritis. Dr Stephan was patient to listen to my concerns, made sure he understands the full picture, walked me through the reasons for the proposed tests, and helped get the relevant tests to rule out CVD. Afterwards we discussed what would be an appropriate recurring monitoring plan, and what to expect if I change my diet. Also answered a bunch of questions/concerns regarding protein and creatine intake, and kidneys health. You'll both get great treatment and more understanding of your condition.
