About Mr Nitin Shetty
Mr Nitin Shetty is an experienced consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon based in London. He specialises in the management of degenerative spinal conditions, spinal infections and spinal fractures and offers a range of surgical interventions, with a particular focus on minimally-invasive spinal operations.
Mr. Shetty undertook his undergraduate medical degree in India, where he also completed his postgraduate degree in orthopaedics. Afterwards, Mr Shetty relocated to the UK and trained as an orthopaedic registrar on the London-KSS deanery. He completed two spinal fellowships; the first was at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and the second was at Guys and St Thomas Hospital. Mr Shetty's training was particularly focused on spinal deformities and minimally invasive surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, he is also very involved in research and has many publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as having presented and co-chaired sessions in national and international conferences. He is also actively involved in education and mentorship and is a clinical and educational supervisor for junior trainees and orthopaedic registrars in three different programmes.
Currently, Mr Shetty is a consultant at the London Orthopaedic clinic where he sees patients privately in addition to his work within the NHS.

I needed assistance with a wheelchair as the distance from the front door to outpatients is very long. This was provided efficiently. Imaging department staff were very considerate in limiting the amount of stripping off that I needed to do and helping me to be comfortable during the examinations. Consultant was very professional and made helpful suggestions in addition to formal recommendations.

I first met Mr Shetty at Highgate private hospital, where he reviewed my MRI and explained what my issue was. I went with the Epidural option for now and he explained everything that will take place on the day of procedure. I found Mr Shetty very professional and caring.
I don't have issues with the doctor, but the lack of responsiveness from his medical team has made it almost impossible to move forward with my treatment. He needs better administrative support so his patients don't have to go through such a frustrating experience and delay treatment.
