Dr Nicola Rosenfelder

Dr Nicola Rosenfelder is a GMC-Registered Consultant Clinical Oncologist from London, UK, and her NHS practice is based at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London.

She is a neuro-oncologist, specialising in the treatment of brain metastases and benign intracranial and skull base tumours using stereotactic radiosurgery (using linac, cyberknife and gamma knife platforms) and in the use of stereotactic fractionated radiotherapy to deliver high-precision radiation treatment.

Dr Rosenfelder graduated from The University of London in 2000 and undertook her oncology training at The Royal Marsden Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals.

During this time she completed an MSc in Oncology, assessing the use of novel methods to improve the accuracy of stereotactic intracranial radiotherapy. She went on to complete an MD in which she set up and ran 2 clinical trials which demonstrated how the accuracy of prostate and cranial radiotherapy could be improved using image-guided radiotherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer and benign intracranial tumours. She combined her clinical research with lab-based study in Professor Harrington's laboratory at The Institute of Cancer Research where she worked on assessment of the use of oncolytic viruses in augmenting the treatment of prostate cancer, using the virus to deliver further tumoricidal treatments directly to the cancer cells. She was a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Royal Free Hospital before moving back to The Royal Marsden Hospital in 2018. She is the Principal Investigator for the ROAM study at The Royal Marsden and will be opening the SAFER study investigating outcomes in patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases.
