About Professor Mahmood Barbir
Professor Mahmoud Barbir is a Consultant Cardiologist with over 25 years of experience in the field. Professor Barbir specialises in coronary heart disease, refractory angina and hypertension and practices at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.
Professor Barbir gained his medical qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 1980 and went on to undertake his basic and specialist cardiology training at St James' and Richmond Hospital in Dublin. After this training, he undertook fellowship with the British Heart Foundations based at Hammersmith Hospital, renowned for its cardiology service. After completing a further three years in Clinical Cardiology training and clinical research, he was appointed in Consultant in 1993.
