Dr. Khawaja Shahabuddin chairs the hepatobiliary and haemato-oncology MDTs at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals as well as the GI , colorectal and HPB MDT at the London Digestive Centre based on Welbeck Street that operates under the auspices of the Princess Grace Hospital. He routinely has a clinic there every Wednesday afternoon. Here he will perform Abdominal and small bowel ultrasound as well as general ultrasound of small body parts and report all CT and MR imaging related to the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary systems.
Dr. Shahabuddin has also recently started chairing the hepatobiliary and upper GI MDT at The London Clinic based on Devonshire Street.
Dr Shahabuddin keeps up to date with the latest advances in Abdominal and Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary imaging and has co-authored book chapters on the topic as well as being a contributing author in high impact factor journals , such as The Lancet. He is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) as well as The European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Imaging (ESGAR).

Dr Khawaja Shahabuddin graduated from St. George's Hospital Medical School, University of London in 2003 with Merit having completed an intercalated BSc with Honours in Biomedical Sciences with Physiology during his time there.
After graduation he worked at a number of different hospitals in South London, (including St. George's and Kings College Hospitals) for the next 4 years, during which time he acquired his MRCP from The Royal College of Physicians.
He then started his Radiology training in 2007, initially in Leicester, but then transferred to the auspicious Chelsea and Westminster Radiology Training Scheme where he did the majority of his training and gained his FRCR from the Royal College of Radiologists in 2009. In 2012 he was selected for a Fellowship in Oncological Imaging at the world famous Royal Marsden Hospital where he spent 16 months and specialised in the imaging of Abdominal Malignancies, espeially those arising in the gastrointestinal tract and the hepatobiliary axis.
In 2013 he became a Consultant at St. Bartholomew's and The Royal London Hospitals specialising in GI/HPB and Oncological Imaging. He is part of the radiology team for the HPB , Colorectal and IBD MDTs and reports all aspects of plain film, fluorosocopy, US and CT/MRI imaging in relation to the gatsrointestinal tract and HPB axis.
Dr Khawaja Shahabuddin has extensive experience in ultrasound and CT guided procedures within the abdominal cavity.
Since July 2021 , Dr Khawaja Shahabuddin has been part of the Radiology team at the London Digestive Centre, where he is part of the Radiology Rota for the HCA colorectal/GI/HPB MDT rota, as well as having a regular clinic there on Wednesday afternoons.
He has also recently joined the radiology rota for HPB at The London Clinic on Devonshire Street where he will be providing imaging support for the HPB services.
