My first appointment to see Dr Makalanda today was very important to me. I found Dr Makalanda very professional with a fantastic understanding very knowledgeable and with a sympathetic personality. He listened to my issues and reviewed my previous scans. He has given me hope that I thought I would never get after six years of suffering. I’m truly grateful to him. I highly recommend Dr Makalanda.
After struggling for a long time to be properly diagnosed and treated for my pulsatile tinnitus and headaches, I sought Dr. Makalanda’s expertise. Since then, I’ve had an angiogram and two surgeries under his care, and I truly could not recommend him highly enough. His expertise is evident in every interaction — he explains all options clearly, answers questions thoroughly, and ensures you fully understand each decision. My symptoms have now almost completely resolved, and the improvement in my quality of life has been genuinely life-changing. Although the prospect of these procedures was daunting, his calm, confident manner and genuine kindness consistently put me at ease throughout the entire process.
My experience with Dr Makalanda was first-rate throughout .His explanations on the results of my CT scan were extremely clear and concise as were his responses to a couple of questions I had .I also very much appreciated his friendly and always helpful manner .
Dr Makalanda was extremely calming, pleasant and most of all a great neurosurgeon he performed an embolisation and placing a stent on an artery in my brain. The operation was a success, I don’t really know how to put into words how grateful I am that he saved my life…he is superb and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough!
Dr. Levansri Makalanda was so professional, polite and caring. I felt really cared for. He has explained every thing and secured that everything will be fine. I am so pleased that he was the one who did the procedure. Thank you so much Dr. Makalanda.
Everything was explained very clearly and I really appreciated the time he took to answer all my questions
From first meeting Dr Makalanda inspired me with confidence. His explanation of the evidence he had , my description of symptoms and Mr Bals insights had led him to a clear set of options open to me and the associated risks. Right up to the day of the operation I was given choices and asked to confirm why I was keen to have procedure despite risks. I met all the team before procedure including nursing and physio . My care at Wellington Hospital was excellent particularly the ICU post op when monitoring and care was exceptional. Dr Makalanda even visited early Saturday AM and sat with me for some time to ensure all was well for me . He confirmed all had gone well and I should rest . I said I would enjoy ‘new me’ as it had been many months since I had felt so well and Risk free of Aneurysm/ Stroke. I would also mention Patricia of Dr Makalandas team who has helped me with many questions over time.
For a very scary procedure, I was quickly and thankfully put at ease and felt supported every step of the way. All concerns were listened to with care and helped to lessen any anxiety pre procedure. I will be coming back for my follow ups in the forth coming years without hesitation!
I can’t recommend Dr. Makalanda highly enough. He is incredibly patient and takes the time to explain everything clearly, making sure you fully understand your options and feel at ease throughout. What really stood out to me was the care and attention he gives — nothing ever feels rushed, and he goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and reassured. I felt genuinely listened to and cared for every step of the way.
