About Mr Aruna Munasinghe
Mr. Aruna Munasinghe is a Consultant General Laparoscopic Surgeon, with a special interest in Upper GI and Weight Loss Surgery. He has an NHS base at Bedfordshire Hospitals where he is the Clinical Lead for Safety and Clinical Governance, and the welfare of his patients' is at the heart of all of his practice.
Mr. Munasinghe qualified from Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital, and has enjoyed outstanding Postgraduate Training in London, the South East and the West Midlands. He undertook a period of research at Imperial College London and a fellowship in Bariatric and Complex Upper GI Surgery at St George's Hospital, London.
In addition to maintaining high standards in his NHS and Private Practice, he is also a passionate educator and is a trainer in Bariatric Surgery, Keyhole Hernia Repair, Trauma and Endoscopy.
Mr. Munasinghe is pleased to offer a large range of common general surgical procedures which will be performed through a keyhole route wherever possible to minimise pain and for a faster recovery. His main areas of interest are in the treatment of Obesity, Reflux Disease, Gallstones and Hernia. He is happy to see patients of varying complexity, for both primary and revision (redo-) procedures.

At no time did I feel under pressure to make a decision and I was told to have a think about everything before deciding. We decided to go ahead and it’s definitely made a huge difference to my life. Mr Munasinghe did a fantastic job and put my mind at rest too, as this was the first major surgery I have had. I followed his advice regarding the diet beforehand and also his advice for aftercare and am pleased to say the surgery went very well. I would have no problem recommending Mr Munasinghe as he has been extremely kind and professional throughout and did an outstanding job. My wife and I are both very grateful to him and cannot recommend him enough. Also I must mention his Secretary Ana who has also been extremely helpful and supportive throughout. A big thank you to you both from my wife and I for making such a difference to my life.
